The 2000 year group of Saint Augustine’s College in the Central region has held fun games to raise funds for development projects in the school.
According to them, the school played a vital role in shaping them to be useful people in society hence the decision to support their alma mater to ease the burden on school authorities.
The fun games dubbed: the St. Augustine’s Past Students Union (APSU) Football Rave was held at the Lizzy’s Sport Complex in East Legon.
It brought together old boys of the 1989, 1999, 2001, 2002 as well as the APSU Legon chapter to exercise, rekindle old friendship, reminisce times in school and also have fun.
They were also joined by old girls of the Legon chapter of the Holy Child Past Students Association (HOPSA).
The main activity for the event was football spiced with a special ‘jama’ session.
After the tournament held exclusively for old boys, the 1999 year group emerged winners. They were presented with a trophy and some prizes.
President of the 2000 year group, Kofi Acolatse said the aim of the games was to maintain constant links with each other and also socialize with members to assist the school’s development.
Aside socializing, he noted that the fun games are for members to take time out of their busy schedules and exercise to keep their bodies in shape.
“We came here to play football, shed off excess weight, fraternize, enjoy good music, drinks and most imperatively deliberate on initiatives to give back to our dear college” he added.
Kofi Acolatse expressed profound appreciation to old boys and their female counterparts for coming out in their numbers to support the worthy cause.
