Chairman’s Commitment
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Kwabena Osei Tutu, who has served in various armwrestling roles over the years, expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged his commitment to the sport’s growth.
“I am honoured to lead the Ashanti Region Armwrestling team and contribute to the development of this exciting sport. With the support of our athletes, coaches, and stakeholders, I am confident that we will achieve great things, produce global champions, and bring glory to our region,” he stated.
Vice Chairman Mr. Marvin Norman also expressed enthusiasm about his new role.
“Armwrestling is indigenous and popular. I am proud to serve the Ashanti Region and work with our talented athletes to promote the sport and achieve success. Our recent performances at the African Games, where athletes from this region won medals for Ghana, demonstrate our potential. I am excited to see what the future holds for our team and the region,” he said.

The regional team plans to roll out a “Training of Trainers” programme and organise school competitions in the coming days to identify new talent and commence development initiatives.
