Emmanuel Frimpong has finally put pen to paper and has officially signed to play for Ghana after watching the Brazil V Ghana match yesterday at Craven cottage.
It has been a long rollercoaster for the two nations as England and Ghana were both attempting to secure the playing future of Arsenal's Emmanuel Frimpong, who has burst on to the scene this season.
Frimpong has represented England at under-16 and 17 level, while he has also been called up to the under-19 team in the past and was part of Stuart Pearce's under-21 squad to take on Azerbaijan and Israel.
"No matter what, I will always play for Ghana," the Accra-born player stated two years ago, adding that if his homeland calls then he would ride his own bicycle from England to Africa.
Frimpong was whisked away after the match to the hotel of the Ghana national team where he met the president of the GFA (Ghana Football Association) Kwasi Nyantakyi and the GFA executive committee member George Akwasi Afriyie.
He was also in the Presence of FIFA licensed match agent Justin Addo.
"This is Fantastic news for Ghana and it will be great to see him play in the up and coming friendly international match between Ghana and Nigeria."
Due to the recent rioting that took place in August, Justin Addo had to postpone this match and it will now take place on the 11th October.
Frimpong has recently been nominated for a GUBA (Ghana UK Based Achievement) Award, which is an award ceremony founded by Dentaa and he will be attending a press conference at the Ghana high commissions office on the 15th September.
