A tragic road accident at Akutuase, a town near Agogo in the Ashanti Region, on Monday evening has claimed seven lives.
Seven others are in critical condition and are receiving treatment at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital, reports Luv FM’s Erastus Asare-Donkor.
Eyewitnesses told police a KIA truck loaded with yam collided head-on with a Ford transit passenger bus.

The driver of the Ford vehicle and five others on the same bus died on the spot, police said.
Priscilla Akoh Dei, a level 300 Physician Assistant student at Presbyterian University College is among the seven dead perople.
Police are yet to give the names of the other six.
Konongo Divisional Police Commander, Supt Ohene Boadi Bossman, told Erastus information they have gathered indicate the KIA truck was overtaking another vehicle at a spot close to Akutuase Junction when it collided head-on with the passenger bus.

He said the incident happened around 8 pm.
The driver of the KIA truck and his assistant have absconded from the accident scene, according to police.
Supt Bossman said investigations are still ongoing.
