Members of the Fanteakwa District Assembly would henceforth forfeit their transport and sitting allowances when they are late for assembly meetings.
This was contained in the Executive Committee's report presented at the first ordinary meeting of the assembly at Begoro on Wednesday.
The meeting, which was chaired by the Presiding Member, Adjabeng Kwasi Ntori, complained that rampant lateness of assembly members to meetings usually delayed meeting proceedings.
As a result, the issues at meetings were not thoroughly deliberated upon.
The assembly therefore resolved that assembly members who attend meetings 30 minutes after the commencement of meetings would forfeit their allowances.
