Mrs Nana Amua-Sekyi, Western Regional Director of Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) on Tuesday said students must be assisted to understand human rights issues better, to enable them promote and practice it. She said students could transform the nation when they were well informed about human rights activities. Mrs Amua-Sekyi was speaking at the second inter-schools quiz on human rights at Agona Nkwanta. Students from Archbishop Porters' Girls, Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS), Half Assini Senior High School, Tarkwa Senior High School and Baidoo Bonsu Senior High School participated in the competition. It was won by students from Archbishop Porters' Girls with 54 points, followed by GSTS with 53 points and Tarkwa Senior High School with 48 points. Mrs Amua-Sekyi said most of the students displayed a high sense of human rights knowledge and this should be replicated in schools nationwide. She appealed to heads of institutions and professional bodies to assist CHRAJ in its public education campaigns.
