A leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Ato Ahwoi says Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah has gotten out of hand and must be brought to order.
He said the former Communications Minister in the previous NDC government under Jerry Rawlings, has been making churlish arguments, posing as the most intelligent member of the ruling party.
“I am telling Spio Gabrah that he is not the only intelligent man in the world, Spio Garbrah is not the only intelligent man in the NDC,” Mr Ahwoi told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show host Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah.
He was confirming a letter he wrote in response to criticisms at President Mills and his government by Mr Spio-Garbrah in a number of articles published in the state-owned Daily Graphic.
Mr Ahwoi said Dr Spio-Garbrah since 1993, had consistently ridiculed President Mills and wondered why he (Spio-Garbrah) thought the president would appoint him to serve in his government.
He accused the former NDC presidential candidate aspirant of being the brain behind scurrilous text messages before the NDC’s presidential primaries that then candidate Mills was not medically fit to lead the party into the epic 2008 presidential elections.
“It was he Spio-Garbrah who started a rumour that President Mills will die before the 2008 elections. He sent a text message to President Rawlings,” raising those concerns, he emphasized.
