Asante Kotoko have completed the registration of returnee defender Awal Mohammed with the player available for selection starting this Sunday against Bolga All Stars.
The Porcupine Warriors have added the experienced Awal to their fold after coach Zdravko Lugarusic requested for his service.

A statement on the Kotoko’s website read: Gifted centre back, Awal Mohammed could be fielded by Coach Zdravko Logarusic in league matches starting this Sunday following his successful signing and subsequent registration for the 2016/17 season.
Awal Mohammed, last featured for Kotoko in the 2012/13 season. Late last week, he passed his medical tests at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi before being handed a one year contract by Management. The central defender has been training with Kotoko at Adako Jachie for weeks now to stay in shape for the rigorous demands of the season.
Accra Representative and Premier League Board member, Thomas Boakye Agyeman on Tuesday confirmed the player’s signing and registration to Asantekotokosc.com. Awal has played for Maritzburg of South African and Raja Casablanca of Morocco since leaving Ghana about four seasons ago.
After five games this season, Kotoko are joint top on the standings with Aduana Stars.
