A mob of young people in Tamale, believed to members of NDC action group, Azorka Boys, Thursday morning besieged the offices of Vodafone allegedly to stop the company from giving out some auctioned vehicles.
The angry youth say they do not understand why all seven auctioned vehicles were bought by an individual when there are others in the region who had equally expressed interest.
The Northern Regional Security Controller of Vodafone, Joseph Arthur told Joy News the group said they were not going to allow the vehicles to leave the yard because “they are in charge in the region here and they are supposed to know which vehicles are being sent out side or being sold.”
He said staff of the company managed to stop the youth from taking away the vehicles while a report was lodged with the police.
The Northern Regional Police say they are investigating the matter.
