Former WBC Super feather weight champion Azumah Nelson says he is not interested in taking up an official position within the current framework of the National Boxing Authority.
The Ghana boxing legend, who is reportedly being considered for a technical director role, says he will only accept such a position only if the system is ready to make good use of his advice.
“I am not interested in any official post,” Nelson said.
“You need a framework where your authority is never undermined, where when you speak people listen.
“I always say that boxing is not politics.
“If I become technical director, then people must be ready to listen to me. Not just being there for cosmetic reasons.
“What’s the use of having such a position if people are not ready to listen?”
