Premier League debutants, B.A. Stars are threatening to pull out of the league in protest against poor officiating, acts of intimidation and vandalism.
An official of the club, Felix Obeng Fosu on Sunday accused the Professional League Board and the Ghana Football Association of alleged inaction on matters reported to them.
Obeng Fosu, Public Relations Officer told Asempa FM’s Enock “Wallace” Worlanyo on Sunday, that the club’s managers were frustrated by the lawlessness that characterizes league matches and they will not continue to sink borrowed money into the game while its managers sit unconcerned.
According to Obeng Fosu, even when the club scored a ‘clean’ goal, the referees blatantly refuse to accept it, while club officials are manhandled at league centres without cause.
He said largely, footages of the aberrations are available to officials of the FA, however, they do not make use of the large evidence available to them and it will not be good business sense to continue pumping ‘bank loans’ into a venture has virtually no monetary reward, expressing disappointment in what he said was a lack of sponsorship for the league.
Obeng Fosu said a press conference Monday morning will official announce the exit of the team so the FA can go ahead and play a 15-club league.
BA Stars were beaten 3:1 by Kessben FC on Sunday in the week 8 Glo Premier League encounter.
The club is 11th on the league table on 9 points with a disputed game still outstanding. During the 7th week games, the Sunyani based club had its home game against New Edubiase ended abruptly with five minutes to go when home fans invaded the pitch in protest of what they claimed was bad officiating. New Edubiase were up by a lone goal.
