The Health Ministry is urging parents of a-3-month-old baby, whose genital was allegedly cut off at the Juaboso government hospital in the Western Region, to report the case to the National Facility Regulatory Authority (NFRA), for redress.
This, the ministry noted, will identify lapses that resulted in the unfortunate incident for which concrete steps will be taken to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
Speaking to Joy News on Friday, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ministry of Health, Tony Goodman, assured that the various Units under the Ministry could facilitate speedy action on the issue.
"When you come directly to the [Health Ministry], what we will do is that we will now write officially on your behalf to those institutions... We advise that they should seek redress in those institutions," the PRO of the ministry of health intimated.
Meanwhile, the Ministry said it has not received any official report on the issue.
Kwame Bemuaba, born at the Juaboso government hospital died three months after his birth. His parents noticed that his penis had been cut off, when they went for his body from the morgue.
The parents of Kwame Bemuaba, have expressed shock at the development and are demanding answers from hospital authorities.
They have therefore taken legal action against the hospital for redress and to enable them bury their deceased child.
