(WBO) Africa Cruiserweight champion Isaac Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku has asked the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to ban him for three years if he loses to Ayittey Powers in their upcoming bout.
The two boxers have traded insults ahead of their much-talked- about bout christened, 'The Judgment Fight', scheduled for April 18 at the Accra Stadium.
Yesterday at the Accra Stadium, the combatants took the verbal threats a level higher at a press conference put together by Box Office Promotions and SuperSport.
A typical Banku plunged into his full elements when he was given the chance to address the media at the Sports Hall and made an audacious statement saying, "GBA should ban me for three years if I lose to Powers in April."
The unbeaten WPBF Light Heavyweight belt holder and world number 6 Cruiserweight added, "I am not just talking, I am training very well and I tell you I will stop him in round seven."
In similar fashion, Powers pointed out, "There is no way Banku will- survive this clash. I will make sure I silence him on that day in the ring."
GBA president, Peter Zwennes urged the boxers to demonstrate professionalism on the day, taking into account its potential to make an indelible mark in the country's boxing history.
Both boxers have stepped up their training which keeps drawing, hundreds of people on a daily basis.
Banku and Powers have signed the contract as well as received advance purses to rule out any doubt as regards the staging of the much-anticipated bout;
Close to 20,000 lovers of boxing are expected to witness the April 18 crunch encounter.
The fight will be produced and broadcast live by SuperSport, on the DStv and GOtv networks, to Africa with an option of a feed to be given to one Ghanaian broadcast partner, ensuring the broadcast to 2.9 million across Africa and one million potential viewers
