JOY BUSINESS has learnt the Managing Director of Barclays Bank Ghana, Benjamin Dabrah is moving to Standard Chartered Bank Africa as its new Regional Chief Risk Officer by July this year.
This follows his resignation from Barclays Bank which takes effect from mid-June having served the bank as the Managing Director since November 2008.
Barclays in an official statement copied to JOY BUSINESS noted his successor will be announced in due course. He is credited with turning around the Bank from a loss position to a profitable one. Mr. Dabrah explains to JOY-BUSINESS why he is moving on.
“The opportunity that Stanchart offered me was one that I couldn’t turn down. I think the move is a good one and the time is also right” he explained.
Mr. Debrah however denies that he is being pushed out.
“If you’re going to pushed out you’re not given time to first look for a job” he added.
