Ashantigold head coach Bashir Hayford has replied critics who have constantly bashed him since the beginning of the season.
The reigning coach of the year has seen his side’s title defence crumble right before his eyes with a string of insipid performances.
The Miners are 13th on the league log, one point and one clear of safety.
Vast majority of the players who won the title with the Miners have departed with the former Asante Kotoko having to re-build a new team amidst financial difficulties from management.
Despite this predicament, Hayford is not shy to take on his critics asking for forgiveness on their behalf after they carried out stories which he perceives to be lies.
Read what Hayford told reporters after their 1-1 draw with Dwarfs.
“I am not under pressure. I won the league last season. They said they had not won the league in 19 years and I was tasked to win and I have won so what pressure again? I am not worried at all. A black man never appreciates anything. If he buys a Lexus today, he will wish to get Toyota, if he gets Toyota, he will want to get a Benz. I want to seize this opportunity to pray for all those who carried my news as bushfire in the harmattan. I pray for God’s forgiveness for all of them because you can look at me, I have grey hair, my strength is not even like Augustine Sefa. Sefa has a girlfriend how can I go after her?It is an orchestrated attempt to push me out and those who heard it and pushed it like bushfire, God Bless them. I am not fed up but sometimes I become disappointed. All my mates, Sarpong was my senior, are headmasters, Ministers and DCE’s," he told Adom FM Sports.
Can Ashantigold recover from the poor start to the season?
