The New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Vice-Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned two boreholes in the Akuapim South Constituency of the Eastern Region.
The two projects were commissioned on Saturday, May 15 in Adoagyiri and Dego all in the Akuapim South Municipality.
This the former deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana argued is in fulfilment of his promise made to the people in February when news broke that residents of the two areas were facing acute water shortage.

Addressing the Chief and people of Nsawam, Dr. Bawumiah thanked the people for their patience and support in seeing to the conclusion of the projects.
“On behalf of Nana Akufo-Addo, we are happy to have been able to contribute our little quota to help the people of the area and help bring relief,” he said.
Queen mother for Nsawam, Nana Awoyaa Amankwah said: “We were suffering so much but thanks to you, I can now get water to drink and to bath.”

According to the Queen mother, who is also the acting Head of the Nsawam Traditional Council, considering the provision Dr. Bawumia has made for the people of Adoagyiri, she is convinced that “You can do bigger things for us and this is why I will support you wherever you go.”
Dr. Bawumia remarked that considering the resources the country has commanded in the last seven years, the government should have been in the position to solve the issues of perennial water shortage in the country but this is not done due to corruption and mismanagement.

The people of Ghana, he said, are now faced with unbearable sufferings in the country and this calls for the right leadership to give hope to the people.

Dr. Bawumia also commissioned a KVIP facility for the people of Sagnarigu in the Tamale Metropolis.
Moved by the gesture, the Chief of Sagnarigu, Naa Yakubu Abdullai expressed his appreciation to the former deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana and the NPP.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia has shown by the project that “You are a man who fulfils his promises and my people thank you for this big gift and for the speed in putting it up.”

He prayed for God’s blessing for the NPP Vice-Presidential Candidate for what according to him he has done for the people of Sagnarigu "even in opposition."
