For sometime now, the African film industry has seen a new dawn as more and more creative minds are showcasing their artistic works in production of great movies.
One of such productions is Bed of Roses; the next block buster movie to hit the movie screens across the length and breadth of Africa.
The movie holds the core theme that, “Life they say is not a Bed of Roses” and it clearly delves into life’s complicated issues giving further meaning to life’s unending events.
This movie is the handy work of Michael Odikah, a young dynamic and creative film maker who has over the years proved that great works is achievable.
Michael is creative mind behind Marhills Production and has to his credit several outstanding movies from different genres including Madam Moke, Omanpainy Yere, Shakira (co- produced), Trinity (co-produced), Last Victory, Power of the Gods and Will of the Gods.
Bed of Roses tells the story of Ella Boateng who is married to real estate millionaire, Andy Nadab.
When Andy, who supposedly was seeing another woman, pops up in her face asking for a divorce, she decides that she must first know the woman who has stolen her husband’s heart.
In the light of that, and with the help of her half sister Zina, she secures the services of Jason, a young man good at such odd jobs of trailing people.
Ella commissions Jason to at all cost find out who the “other woman” is. Unknown to her, the other woman was Zina.
What follows is a dare-devil web of plots and counter-plots between both sisters that leaves trails of hate, bitterness, pain and anguish.
Industry pundits have tagged the movie as “a breath of fresh air into the movie industry and at the end, one is taught another very important definition of life.”
Bed of Roses is directed by award winning director, Pascal Amanfo and it stars a long list of industry greats such as Adjetey, Annan, Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Martha Ankomah and Yvonne Okoro.
Bed of Roses premieres at the Silverbird Cinemas on June 3.
