Berekum Chelsea striker Kofi Owusu says he is hopeful of toppling current leading goalscorer Nathaniel Asamoah to become goal king on the final day of the season.
Owusu, who scored a brace in their 2-3 defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak, over the weekend is just a goal away from catching up with Asamoah whose 18 goals cannot be improved on match day 30 following his move to Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.
Owusu in an interview with Joy Sports said he is motivated to go for the FCPPL golden boot award.
"Before the start of the league ,I had a set a target of scoring in every match, and with a match to end the league I have a great opportunity to become goal king and I'm going for it."
"Becoming goal king was not my initial target but under the current circumstance I have to grab the opportunity.”
"I started playing in the Ghana premier league in 2010 and I feel this is my time to shine," he added.
Berekum Chelsea, hopeful of finishing fourth on the First Capital Plus Premier League log, will welcome Wa All Stars to the Golden City Park on final day of the season.
