The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Bosiako, has been accused of bad leadership, resulting in the slow pace of development in the region.
Former NPP Chairman in the Fomena Constituency, Akwasi Nti Asamoah, claims although Chairman Wontumi has several projects awarded to him, he has failed to execute most of them.
Akwasi Nti says the party is courting disaffection in the region because of stalled projects.
Chairman Akwasi Nti says the Ashanti Region will witness massive development if Chairman Wontumi is relegated from the NPP Chairmanship position.
He alleged that the Taabuom road was contracted to Wontumi who has not completed it till date.
Mr Nti said Akufo-Addo's performance in the Ashanti Region is unprecedented but certain group of people including Chairman Wuntumi are sabotaging his work with their selfish activities.
According to him, if Wontumi steps down from the Chairman position, the NPP in the Ashanti region will be amazed with the speed of development in the region.
He added that if things are not going well in any region, the regional chairmen should be held responsible, hence developmental challenges should be blamed on Wontumi.
Defaced Party Office
Akwasi Nti says the NPP youth at Fomena painted the party’s office in NDC colors because they were angry with the leadership of the party in the region.
He alleged that the polling station election forms for party members were given to Fomena MP, Andrews Asiama and his independent followers.
He admits that the party needs Andrews Asiama but the process should be done judiciously.
Meanwhile, NPP’s Communications Director in the Ashanti region has denied the forms were given to Andrews Asiama or any other individual in the constituency.
Kwasi Kyei says leaders are still in control to have a lasting solution to happenings at Fomena.
According to him, no constituency polling station elections committee has been set up, so there has not been any distribution of forms.
