Asante Kotoko’s first group game in the CAF Confederation Cup ended in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Al Hilal Omdurman on Sunday.
The Sudanese side scored the only goal of the game in the first half through Waleed Bakhiek.
The youngster was at the right place to put the ball at the back of the net after a receiving a pass from Nasr El Din Shigel.
The Porcupine Warriors came close to equalising when Fatawu Safiu hit the woodwork with a fine effort just before half time.
In the other group C game, Zesco United posted a 2-0 victory over Zambian rivals Nkana at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola
Kotoko’s next game is at home against Zesco United.
