Accra Hearts of Oak managed a 1-0 defeat over Bennios side AS Police in their preliminary first leg of the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts scored through striker Sellasie Adjei in the early minutes of the second half but wasted scoring opportunities in the entire game.
It could have been goal number two shortly afterwards, but Kofi Abanga’s strike was awkwardly parried by the AS Police goalkeeper for a corner-kick.
Substitute striker Kwame Kizito missed a glorious opportunity to double the lead but the younger, who was put through clear on goal, shot straight into the body of the goalkeeper.
The return leg will be played in a fortnight in Benin.
