A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe has called on the party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to stamp his authority and bring sanity into the NPP.
According to him, certain over enthusiastic youth in the party who call themselves communicators have taken the party hostage.
Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday.
According to him, "it appears the NPP is under siege" and the national leadership are rendered powerless considering the insults being hurled at founding members by these so-called communicators.
"We have leaders in the party who are not talking and are quiet for reason best known to them. But I think it is because of the way these attacks have been going on".
The NPP apparatchik said what is happening in the NPP under the watch of the national leadership is very strange since "the founders of this party believe strongly in democracy and in instances where people spoke their mind, no one was attacked".
"The party has a tradition and those of us who studied at the feet of people like Odoi Sykes, Ala Adjetey, B.K Adama and others never attacked their views and opinions because we these were people who cherish democracy".
Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe said it is very irritating that certain people who have not achieved anything in the party are allowed to cast a slur on the integrity of personalities like Kwame Pianim and Charles Wereko-Brobby who are pillars in the party have sacrificed a lot of the NPP.
"These are pillars of the party so if you attack them then you want destroy the party because they have their support based in the party. These so-called communicators will leave the scene soon the moment the dynamic change; that does not mean we will not have NPP".
He maintained that some of the sentiments being expressed are legitimate which should rather be a warning to the party leadership.
"We can have these breed of young people who are intolerant and would not listen to anything that is being said by other members of the party and what they say is final. We can not just handle that; that is impossible," he exclaimed.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe believes it is about time the leadership led by Nana Akufo-Addo take the bull by the horn and call these loudmouth communicators to order.
The NPP's leading member said he will give them the dose of their own medicine if they dare direct their insulting behaviour towards him.
"I don’t care about who attacks me. Any of these people what I have gone through none of them can go though. I know none of them can insult me because any of them who insult me, I will take him on with his entire family," he vowed.
Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe added that these communicators must be made to understand that the NPP is a tolerant party therefore "If you are not a tolerant person, you can’t be a member of NPP".
