The Member of Parliament-elect for Ejura-Sekyeredumase, Mohammed Bawa Braimah has appealed to the leadership of the New Patriotic Party to call their supporters to order.
It followed pockets of post-election violence which have put police at Ejura on high alert to avert escalation.

The offices of Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly are under 24-hour surveillance after N.P.P. supporters stormed there and hoisted party flags.
They had earlier succeeded in taking over a revenue collection point at Ejura.
Ahead of the 2016 elections, the commercial town of Ejura, was declared volatile and one of the flash points by the Regional Election Security Monitoring Team.

Police have had to intervene to prevent NPP supporters from visiting mayhem on their political opponents.
N.P.P. flags and other souvenirs are seen scattered on the municipal assembly premises where armed police personnel are on guard to provide security.
A 30-year old man, Emmanuel Kwame had his fingers severed in a confrontation with NPP youth over President Mahama’s billboard at Homako.
With his hands in bandages, Kwame says he can no longer work on his farm after he was referred from the Homako CHPS Compound to Ejura Hospital.

Alhaji Mohammed Bawa Braimah who is out-going Municipal Chief Executive is worried about what he says is widespread attacks on NDC supporters.
“Even yesterday in Sekyeredumase, School Feeding caterers were attacked. Known NPP guys went and then overturned the pots; throwing all the food away. Infact if you look at this situation, you cannot call it pockets because it has started in Ejura and it has gotten to Sekyeredumase as far as destroying food that is meant for school children,” he complained.
Alhaji Bawa appealed to the leadership of the New Patriotic Party to intervene.
“What I want to plead with the leadership of the NPP is that, they should show leadership. They should call their people to order,” he appealed

NPP Constituency Chairman, Samuel Nsosakia Abagna, admits party sympathizers seized a revenue collection point and hoisted party flag at the assembly.
He however denies allegations they inflicted machete wounds on an NDC supporter.
“It is not true that Homako, an NPP supporter has attacked an NDC supporter. I am giving you assurance that Ejura is now peaceful. You are in Ejura, go from top to down and see whether there is any thing happening in Ejura. There's nothing happening in Ejura and I will see to it that because when I speak- even the NDC boys those who know me very well when I speak they hear and the same thing that NPP too. The youth when I speak, they listen to me well so I will see to it that, peace prevail”
Meanwhile, the district police command says the situation is under control as security patrols have intensified in the area.
