A care taker and an electrician, Raymond Woods has appeared before the Tema Circuit Court "A" charged with stealing 25 bags of cement.
Woods pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of 20 million cedis with a surety to be justified to re-appear on October 10.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Adolfus Otchere told the court that two months ago Mr Festus Barfi discharged about 100 bags of cement at his building site.
Woods introduced himself as an electrician and a caretaker of a building near Mr Barfi's building and offered to take care of the cement.
Mr Barfi later detected that 15 bags of the cement which is valued at 1.2 million cedis, were missing.
Woods told the Police that he had sold the cement to a Nigerian who was out of the country and had used the money to settle his mother's hospital bills.
