Ghanaian gospel music diva of international repute, Celestine Donkor, has ushered music patrons into the new year with a new song.
Although it was released a week to the end of the year 2024, it has become a song of positive affirmation for a lot of people as they face the new year.
The song titled ‘Something New’ is a prophetic declaration of the power of God in putting smiles on the faces of the afflicted, beleaguered and downtrodden.
The song is reflective on Isaiah 43:19: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
According to Celestine Donkor, ‘Something New’ is already doing great on the music market.
“We are happy about the song and we thank God for giving it to us. Just a week after its release, it is raking in huge numbers across the online music platforms. And these numbers are coming from music lovers across the world,” she said.
She added that just as the song says, in the year 2025, God is going to use Celestine Donkor as a vessel to do new and bigger things in his ministry.
Hundreds of music consumers who are impressed with the song’s composition, took to various social media platforms to react to it.
While Claudia Boateng writes “this is a prophecy”, Attah Faustina also comments that “I am enjoying this song. Something new will happen in my life in 2025. I believe in God.” Joseph Pashal who could not hide his joy after listening to the song also mentions that “the song alone is making my day. It’s like the Most High has started mine already.”
This new offering from Celestine is quite a departure in rhythm and style from a lot of her previous hit songs. However, it has a universal appeal to lovers of good music.
