Star of the moment Joel Fameyeh is impressed with his exploits after his brace fetched Ghana a narrow 2-1 win over Ivory Coast in their first leg African Nations Championship.
Coach Maxwell Konadu’s side conceded first after Ivorian striker Sangare Ibrahim hit a rebound to beat Richard Ofori in the 32nd minute.
With some few minutes to end the first half striker Joel Fameyeh pulled level after latching onto a pass from midfielder Daniel Darkwah.
Just when it looked like the game was going to end in a draw, Fameyeh got a second to give the local based stars an advantage over the Ivorians going into the second leg.
The Asokwa Deportivo striker was excited to have hit a brace
“For me as a player, it is a very good thing for me. I want to say I am impressed with myself. “
The Kotoko target further went on to express his ambition of repeating the dose come the second leg in a fortnight time.
“Everything is in God’s hands and we are hoping to be injury free so we can go and perform well in Ivory Coast in two weeks’ time.”
The winner of the tie will qualify for the fourth edition of the African Nations Championship to be held in Kigali.
