Chase Petroleum Ghana Limited has donated two bore holes two farming communities in the northern region.
The communities Nakpanzoo in the Savelugu/Nanton District and Tong in the Karaga District were each provided with a bore hole to help solve the perennial water shortage that hits people in that area particularly during dry seasons. The project is worth fifty thousand Ghana cedis.
According to the company’s Marketing Manager Sam Amoah, the gesture is in line with their corporate social responsibility. Mr. Amoah indicated that more of such boreholes would be constructed in the coming years.
At the commissioning of one of the boreholes in Nakpanzoo, Mr. Amoah observed that the facility will save women in the community the time and energy they waste travelling long distances in search of water.
It would also complement the efforts of government and other NGO’s to reduce the infection rate of guinea worm and other water borne diseases in the Savelugu Nanton District.
The chief of Nakpanzoo, Naa Mahamadu Abdullai, commended Chase Petroleum Ghana Limited for their kind gesture and appealed to other benevolent organisations to come to their aid.
He observed that the water crisis in the community is negatively affecting the socio-economic progress of the people and requires an urgent intervention.
Chase Petroleum Ghana Limited is a trader and bulk distributor of refined petroleum products. It is owned by a Ghanaian business magnate Kweiku Bediako.
