Berekum Chelsea have confirmed the transfer of midfielder Gladson Awako to Congolese giants TP Mazembe.
The 22 year old has signed a five year deal for a fee of 400,000 dollars. Awako has already begun training with the Lubumbashi-based side.
According to Berekum Chelsea’s director of Operations Oduro Sarfo who confirmed the deal to JOY Sport, both the club and Awako have made a good business.
“It’s ok for him to play for Mazembe because it provides the platform that can showcase the boy internationally”. Said Oduro Sarfo
“The contract is signed and is mouth watering considering the money involved”.
Gladson Awako’s transfer follows the sale of striker Emmanuel Clottey to Tunisian side Esperance for a Ghanaian transfer record fee of 1.5 million dollars.
