Roman Abramovich is set to sanction a 45 million pounds deal for Colombian superstar Radamel Falcao. It is believed that the Russian owner is running out of patience with Fernando Torres’ inconsistency in front of goal, and has agreed to move for the Atletico Madrid striker.Chelsea have been left a little light in the strike department after the departure of the talismanic Didier Drogba, and the 50-million-pound Torres has failed to fill in for the Ivorian, scoring just once in his last five games. On the other hand, Falcao has been scoring goals for fun, and also scored a hattrick against the Londoners in the European Super Cup. The Colombian is a player in huge demand, with top clubs in Europe targeting him, after he finished as the third highest scorer in the La Liga, only after Cristiano Ronaldo and the Argentine phenomenon named Messi. However, sources for The Sun say that all efforts were being made to bring the 26 year old to Chelsea.“The groundwork is already being done for Falcao,” said the source. “The owner wants everything in place now so a deal can be done before any other club can make a counter-offer.”
