Yusif Raman Chibsah was not a name synonymous with the Black Stars until last week when Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah handed the midfielder his first international call up for the friendly against Turkey.
The 20-year-old midfielder who plays for Italian Serie A side, Parma could make his Ghana debut on Wednesday in the friendly in Istanbul.
For Chibsah, his has fulfilled a dream of getting into the national team.
"It is a great feeling. It's every professional's dream to be in the Black Stars. They received me warmly and I was excited. I appreciate that," said the fresh call up, Chibsah.
He joined the rest of his colleagues for the team's first training session on Monday and it left an impression on him.
"It [training] was great. I saw good qualities in the team."
Bearing no relation to the famous Yusif Alhassan Chibsah, who played for domestic champions Asante Kotoko some season's past, the Parma player says he desires to push for a permanent place in the team.
"Ofcourse, I am confident," said Chibsah.
"It's an opportunity which the coach has given me so I have all the confidence in myself that I can make it better and make it good. I am just praying that I have a little bit of chance to show Ghanaians what I can also do to help the national team."
Though young at just 20, Chibsah is counting down to be a major pillar in the national team in a couple of years time.
"I expect to be one of the major players in the Black Stars," he said.
"It's my dream and I am working very hard towards it. I know by the grace of God, I am going to be one of the pillars of the Black Stars in two-three years to come."
