Reports from Wenchi in the Brong Ahafo region say the Paramount Chief of Techiman traditional area, Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV has caused the arrest of the chief of Tuobodom, Nana Asare Baafuor II.
Nana Asare Baafuor is alleged to have issued death threats against Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw.
Nana Asare Baafuor had just stepped out of the Wenchi High Court on Friday where he is seeking a restraining order against one Thomas Opoku, said to be developing a property on a piece of land at Tuobodom which the chief claims belongs to the traditional authority, when a white Ford bus with registration AW 2873 Z embossed only at the back, pulled up.
Two heavily built men (macho) emerged from the bus and bundled the chief into the bus and drove away to chief’s palace.
Nana Asare Baffour is alleged to have made an assassination attempt on the Techimanhene in October of 2008, following the which a formal complaint was lodged with the police.
This week he allegedly issued a statement calling on President Evans Atta Mills to intervene in a matter in which four of his subjects have been arrested and remanded in police custody in connection with the alleged assassination attempt, and allegedly cautioned that a failure could result in bloodshed.
