Chief Kufuor, son of former President J.A. Kufuor is set to contest the Parliamentary seat of the Atwima Nwabiagya Constituency in the Ashanti Region in the 2012 elections.
The Today newspaper reports that the grounds are being prepared to help Chief Kufuor snatch the seat from the current Member of Parliament, Benito Owusu Bio.
According to the paper, the Constituency Organiser of the NPP, is leading the preparartory work for the former president’s son.
Peter Asamoah, alleged to be pro-Alan, will neither deny nor confirm the reports.
Chief Kufuor reportedly expressed interest in contesting the seat in the last elections but was prevailed upon by his dad – a close associate of the current MP - to shelve his ambitions.
