A Chinese company, Hassan International Holdings is working on transforming the western region town of Sekondi into an industrial estate.
The estate is expected to have an aluminum smelting plant as well as other facilities.
The company says it is investing 4 billion US dollars in the project.
Speaking at the launch at the Free Zones site at Mpinstin near Sekondi, Hassan’s President Luke Luang said the project would create jobs for residents.
He said the company will be making extensive use of local materials.
“Part of our responsibilities is to train the people locally to be able to carry out the works that needs to be done,” he stated.
