The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) extends its goodwill to the National Chief Imam, Sheik Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and the entire Muslim Community in Ghana as they commence this year’s Ramadan. Ramadan is a time where Muslims attain nearness and closeness to God and He becomes a reality in their life as they put up with the difficulties of fasting purely for the sake of following a Divine commandment. In a release issued on Thursday July 10, the Council said their expectation is that the Muslim community will continue to reach out to the needy and also reflect on creative ways to work together with them in unity for the development of Ghana. "We also pray that our Muslim brothers and sisters will make time during this season to pray for God’s continued blessings on the nation, especially in the light of the ongoing election adjudication at the Supreme Court” they remarked. The Council praised the Muslims for the positive influence they have in the country's communities, and the tolerance Christians and Muslims celebrate as their strength as Ghanaians. CCG also commended the National Chief Imam and the Muslim community for their enormous contribution to the development of the nation and assured the Muslims of their solidarity and prayers during the season.
