The leadership of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association has given government more time to address their problems with the single spine salary structure.
The group is kicking against the new pay policy because it says it does not anticipate any improvement in salaries for its members when the structure is implemented this July.
The workers were due to start series of coordinated nationwide demonstrations from Thursday including the wearing of red armbands and hoisting of red flags.
But the Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG James Amissah told Joy News the Association has shelved it decision to demonstrate against the SSSS but maintained they will still kick against the implementation of the structure until the distortions are corrected.
