Legendary tactician, Herbert Addo has refuted reports he has been appointed as head coach of newly promoted Premier League side Wassaman United ahead of next season’s top flight.
Coach Addo, the only Ghanaian coach to have won five Premier League titles with different clubs, was reported to have joined Wassaman after he was recently spotted at the club’s pre-season training camp.
Herbert Addo told JOY Sports, “It is absolutely untrue. I don’t have plans of becoming coach of any team. Wassaman has not approached me on any issue about a contract. I haven’t signed any contract with them. I am only there to help the club because Coach Karim Zito is there with other coaches.”
He added that, “I have not been training. I am just overseeing everything, making sure there is no cheating at the club’s pre-season justify-your-inclusion exercise.”
The ex-Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko trainer is yet to land a coaching job after his contract with Aduana Stars was terminated last month. He led Aduana Stars to win their first league title two seasons ago after the Dormaa based side was promoted to the top flight.
