Head Coach of Ghana’s Olympic team, Kwasi Appiah believes the team will make a quick recovery from yesterday’s disappointing loss in the football event of the All Africa Games to beat host Zimbabwe in Maputo on Saturday.
The Black Meteors lost 1-0 to South Africa in their opening Group A match at the Maxaquene Stadium.
The team badly needs a win over their Zimbabwean counterparts to progress to the medal zone. Failure to secure victory would end Ghana’s campaign in the football event.
Coach Kwasi Appiah is still optimistic of his team’s chances despite playing against the host nation. He told JOY Sports, “Automatically when you play against the home team, you have the crowd, you have the opposing team and even sometimes you have referees being behind them. I watched their game against South Africa and looking at our setup, I totally believe that tactically we can overcome them on Saturday."
The Black Meteors are eager to impress at the All Africa Games after failing to qualify for the next year’s Olympic Games to be staged in London.
