Residents of Pienyina, a farming community in Nkoranza District of Brong-Ahafo have appealed to the District Director of Health Services to post a nurse to run the local clinic to enhance the health of the people.
Mr. Emmanuel K. Danquah, youth leader, told the Ghana News Agency the government provided the clinic in 2004 93but since the completion of the project, no health official has been sent there".
"The people had to travel to Ejura in Ashanti Region for medical care by bicycle or tractor as the road that leads to Nkoranza is in a deplorable state and drivers are unwilling to ply it," he said. Mr. Danquah appealed to the District Health Management Team to consider the plight of the people and ensure the operation of the health facility to save lives.
Meanwhile, the people have also called on the District Assembly to liaise with the Department of Feeder Roads to construct the road that links the area
to Bredi Number One on the Nkoranza-Ejura road to facilitate the transportation of their farm produce.
