Once again GHANAIANS have spoken in a clear voice in the direction in which they wish the sails of governance of their country to move. And we believe that the voice of our people in choosing the leadership of this great nation is the voice of GOD. The world all over has heard us clearly and hails our courage and civility. In the spirit of oneness and a common sense of self-determination, I wish to congratulate you and your running mate on behalf of the Executive Committee of TEIN-NDC (KNUST CHAPTER) for legitimately securing the bid to lead this nation as President of the Republic of Ghana. We acknowledge the rough, crooked and bumpy road to this end and salute your courage, resilience, determination and perseverance that finally saw you through.
It is our hope that the rich experience you must have accumulated under the circumstances leading to your victory would inure to the benefit of the ordinary people of this country in line with the philosophy on which you contested the elections.
As we join millions of Ghanaians in celebrating your victory and the victory of the people of this country, we wish to add our voice to the call by many well meaning Ghanaians to ensure that uniting this nation is declared the emergency of the moment. We trust and believe in your humility and hope you could foster unity along the political, tribal and religious lines along which this nation stand’s divided. It would be fatal to underestimate the potential danger of the much talked about division or leaving the situation unattended. You must take the lead in getting all hands on deck so that all stake holders get involve in dissipation Ghana’s common enemy of poverty and underdevelopment.
Indeed, the many praises being heaped on this nation partially hinge on the stability we are currently enjoying and we can not afford the luxury of allowing the emerging situation to swelter into an ugly degeneracy. The time to act is now!
Beyond the hope of seeing a united Ghana, it is also our hope to see you as President, implement your promises of a ‘Better Ghana’. A better Ghana in which political power would be exercised to make life nobler and happier for the people that entrusted power into your hands.
A ‘Better Ghana’ in which political appointment would be seen as an opportunity of man to serve his fellow men. A ‘Better Ghana’ in which the tenets of democracy are upheld and entrenched. A better Ghana in which transparency and accountability would be the working guiding principles for the creations of equal opportunities and wealth but not just a cliché.
And indeed, a ‘Better Ghana’ in which policies and programmes to be implemented truly reflects in a transformed social wellbeing of all shades of the galaxy of citizenry.
Congratulations once again to you and Vice President elect as well as all other members of our great party who have worked in their individual capacities to see us to victory ; special mention must be made of the foot soldiers in particular who have worked relentlessly behind the scenes in making this dream a reality.
May the merciful lord grant us the wisdom to carry on as a lead light in Africa’s renaissance and bless us all in keeping up with a healthy spirit of democratic culture. FOR IN YOUR SPIRIT OF KEEPING UP WITH THE RULES OF THE GAME, GHANA STILL REIGNS WITHIN THE COMMITTEE OF NATIONS AS THE LIGHT OF AFRICA AS EVER!
