Police in Cotonou have retrieved a snatched diplomatic vehicle of Ghana’s Ambassador to Benin.
Modestus Ahiable's driver was attacked by suspected robbers last week who snatched two diplomatic vehicles at gun point.
The Ambassador was attending a function at a spot in Cotonou, when the incident occurred, Foreign Minister Muhammed Mumuni tells Joy News.
Police found one of the vehicles abandoned by the suspected robbers with the rear riddled with bullets.
According to the Foreign Minister, the police will hand over the vehicle to the ambassador Monday.
Alhaji Mumuni said government will demand a full scale investigation into the incident and increased security for staff of the Ghana mission there.
