The council for Technical and vocational education has organized a workshop to validate a new Legislative instrument for implementation at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel. This was to streamline and raise the standards of technical and vocational institutions in the country.
COTVET is a regulatory and a policy making body responsible for the coordination of technical and vocational education in Ghana. COTVET prepares students for work through work place experience learning.
Stakeholders from various parts of the country were present to make their inputs before implementation. These includes rectors, principals from technical institutions, members of parliament, members from the informal sector and representatives from the Ghana
However ten of the manuals have been approved by the COTVET board and implementation has begun.
Stephen Turkson, consultant for COTVET concluded that there is hope for Ghana because COTVET is bringing up competent personnel to develop industries that will ultimately resolve the problem of youth unemployment in the country.
