Saviour Kwashie Amematekpor, a 50 year-old man was on Tuesday slapped with a jail term of 10 years in hard labour by a Takoradi Circuit Court for stealing telephone cables belonging to Vodafone Ghana.
The court convicted him on his own plea.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Alice Parker-Wilson told the court presided over by Mr Kwasi Boakye that about 13:30 hours on January 12 at Diabenekrom, the convict and two accomplices were armed with cutting implements, ladder and flash lights and managed to steal cables valued at GH¢195,000.
The prosecutor said the two accomplices escaped arrest but Amematekpor was apprehended and was arraigned.
