The Nsawam circuit court has remanded Samuel Dartey, unemployed, at Djankrom a suburb of Nsawam, into prison custody for defiling a 15-year-old girl.
Dartey's plea was not taken and he will reappear in court on September 13, this year.
Prosecution Police Inspector Alex Cosmos told the court, presided over by Mrs Elizabeth Ankumah, that on August 12, last year, at about 1900 hours, the girl was filling bottles with water into a refrigerator when the accused came to the house under the pretext of visiting her uncle.
The prosecution said the accused entered the kitchen and without asking the girl anything, he tied her hands behind her and had sexual intercourse with her.
Inspector Cosmos said a report was made to the police and medical forms were issued to the victim to attend hospital.
The accused told the police that he only inserted his fingers into the girl's vagina and not his penis.
