The Convention People’s Party is to hold election for Regional Executives in the Volta Region.
The election which will take place on 30th May, 2009 is aimed at re-building the party at the grass-roots ahead of the 2012 elections.
In all 13 positions are up for grabs.
A statement signed by the party’s Planning Committee Chairman Kosi Dedey names the positions as follows and the corresponding filing fee attached:
Office Filing Fee
1. Chairman - GH¢300.00
2. 1st Vice - GH¢150.00
3. 2nd Vice - GH¢150.00
4. Secretary - GH¢100.00
5. Asst. Secretary - GH¢50.00
6. Treasurer - GH¢100.00
7. Organizer - GH¢100.00
8. Asst. Organizer - GH¢50.00
9. Women’s Organizer - GH¢100.00
10. Asst. Women’s Organizer - GH¢10.00
11. Youth Organizer - GH¢20.00
12. Asst. Youth Organizer - GH¢10.00
13. Education Secretary - GH¢100.00
The form for filing will attract a fee of ten (10) Ghana Cedis each. The time-table for the conference is as follows;
Nomination is set to open on 23rd March. Deadline for the submission of applications and filing fees is 24th April 2009.
Notification for all Constituencies about filed candidates will be between 1 - 22 May 2009.
A Regional Conference will be organised on 30th May 2009 the statement added.
A copy of nomination forms have been sent to all Constituencies.
Persons wishing to contest can pick up nomination forms from their Constituencies or the regional office.
