Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Portugal finished off their preparations for Euro 2016 with a thumping 7-0 home win over Estonia.
The Real Madrid forward opened the scoring in the 36th minute when he powered a header from Ricardo Quaresma’s cross. The Besiktas winger doubled the lead for the hosts with a wonderful shot into the far right corner three minutes later before Ronaldo doubled his tally just before the break.
The Portuguese captain was replaced at half-time but it did not stop his team from adding to their lead. Danilo Pereira headed home Quaresma’s whipped right-wing corner after 55 minutes to put them 4-0 up before Karol Mets put into this own net after a mix-up with the goalkeeper Pavel Londak.
Quaresma added his second of the night to make it 6-0 followed by a cool strike from Éder which rounded off the game 10 minutes from time.
Portugal will face Iceland in their first match of Group F in France, with Austria and Hungary the other two teams in their group.
