Accra Hearts of Oak forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnie, has signed a three-year contract with Swiss side, FC Zurich, the club has confirmed.
Barnieh's deal with the Swiss giants will see him stay at the club until 2026, with the move following reports in the local media over the weekend.
“The 21-year-old striker Daniel Afriyie is transferring from the Ghanaian first division club Hearts of Oak to FCZ with immediate effect and has signed a contract until the summer of 2026. The parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the transfer," a statement from Zurci read.
“FC Zurich warmly welcomes Daniel Afriyie and wishes him every success."
Earlier in the day, Hearts announced the 21-year-old had signed a contract extension at the club after his old contract was set to expire last year in December.
It is speculated that the forward will stay with Hearts until the end of the 2023 African Nations Championships (CHAN) to be staged in Morocco is over before joining his new club.
