Dede Ayew put in a tireless performance at Anfield but it was not enough to see his Swansea side go down to in-form Liverpool 1-0.
Ayew started on the left flank and provided the much needed cover for left back Neil Taylor as they held their own against the rampaging duo of Nathaniel Clyne and Jordan Ibe.
The Black Stars vice-captain was caught up on defensive duties for majority of the game as his side were pinned back in their own half due to Liverpool’s now famous gegenpressing game.
Garry Monk’s side failed to create any clear cut chance on the day as Swansea’s 12 games winless streak continued.
It was all joy for Jurgen Klopp who claimed a first Premier League win at to climb to sixth.
Liverpool took the lead on 62 minutes when James Milner scored from the penalty spot after Neil Taylor was adjudged to have handballed in the box after attempting to defend a Jordan Ibe cross.
Ayew will be hoping for better luck when the winner of BBC player of the year is named.
