Another massive demolition exercise has been carried out at Joma near Weija in the Greater Accra Region, and among victims is the chief's palace.
It comes just one week after over 500 homes were pulled down, displacing over 2,000 people.
A team of police and military personnel were in the area on Tuesday, breaking more houses said to have been built there illegally, including the chief’s palace.
Authorities say the exercise is to protect the River Densu from pollution.
Joy News’ Beatrice Adu who watched the exercise reported that the chief’s palace where she sought refuge to file her report during last week's exercise was no more.
The chief, Nii Ayittey Noyaatse, who is now without a palace, has all along been against the demolition exercise. He said the residents were not given any prior notice before the demolition took place.
Affected residents, their eyes heavy with tears, appealed to the government to come to their aid.
