The flagbearer of the Progressive Peoples Party, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom says, the PPP is likely to pick a woman as its running mate this week ahead of the December elections.
This is after a search committee of the party shortlisted four persons out of which three of are females after vigorous background checks conducted on them.
“It is very likely, I can’t say but you make the deduction yourself,” Dr. Nduom told Joy Fm’s correspondent in the Central Region, Richard Kojo Nyarko.
Dr. Nduom said the successful candidate will be outdoored later this week. He said the national committee would hold an emergency meeting to settle on one of the four.
He said the PPP was bent on making a mark in this year’s elections particularly in the Central Region.
“The goal for this year’s elections is to win at least four constituencies in the central region and to become the dominant political party in the Central Region as far as political are concerned,” he revealed.
