Police have arrested driver in-charge of the Opoku Ware Senior High School mechanized mower through whose operation a BECE candidate lost his life on Friday.
Frank Nnuro, a basic school pupil with the State Experimental JHS in Kumasi died when a stone hurled accidentally from the mowing machine hit him in the ribs.
The students had completed the first part of the BECE Twi language paper and had converged under a tree close to the school park to go back later for the second paper.
Suntreso District Police Commander, DSP Napem Vitus tells Luv News the driver of the mechanized mower, Ousman Issahaku, 45, has been picked for questioning.
But some teachers who led their children to the Martyrs of Uganda BECE center have been questioning the decision by the OWASS School authorities to clear the park at a time when many children have gathered to write exams.
Some of the deceased’s colleagues told Luv Fm’s Erastus Asare Donkor they death had a toll on them in the exams hall.
